  • Be a Delegate for Blythe Potter: The most powerful way to support this campaign.

    Most Hoosiers don’t realize this:

Indiana does not choose statewide Democratic candidates through a public primary.
Instead, the nominee for Secretary of State is chosen by State Delegates at the Indiana Democratic Convention.

The 2026 State Convention will be held on:

    📅 Saturday, June 6, 2026
📍 Indiana Marriott Downtown & Indiana Convention Center
    350 W Maryland St, Indianapolis, IN 46225

Delegates from all 92 counties will gather to:

    • Vote on the Democratic nominee for Secretary of State

    • Approve the 2026 party platform

    • Select committee representation (Rules, Credentials, Resolutions)

    • Conduct important Party business for the next election cycle

This is where the nominee for Secretary of State will be chosen — and YOU can be one of the people who decides.

Being a delegate is one of the most meaningful ways to:

    • Support Blythe directly

    • Ensure ethical, transparent leadership for Indiana

    • Shape the policies and platform of the Indiana Democratic Party

    • Make sure the voices of everyday Hoosiers, not insiders, carry real power

    How to Become a Delegate

Simple steps. No political experience required.

    1. Attend Delegate Training

    📅 December 11, 2025 (virtual)

    2. File declarations (CAN-37)

    📅 Jan 7 – Feb 6, 2026 (noon)

To run as an elected State Convention Delegate, you must file a CAN-37: Declaration of Candidacy.

This is the official form you will need to:

    1. Fill out completely

    2. Have notarized

    3. Submit to your County Clerk during the filing window

      • January 7, 2026 → February 6, 2026 at noon

    Important:
If you are also running for Precinct Committeeman, you must file a separate CAN-37 for that race. One form does not cover both positions.

    A few tips:

    • Many County Clerk’s offices will notarize the form for free (be sure to check with your County Clerk)

    • Once filed, your name will appear on the May 5, 2026 Democratic Primary Ballot as a candidate for State Convention Delegate

    3. Win election OR be appointed

Many delegate races are won with only a handful of votes.
    If you miss filing,
your county chair can appoint you to an open slot.

    4. Vote at the Convention

📅 June 6, 2026 — Delegates vote for statewide nominees, including Secretary of State.
